NVQs are a competence-based approach to training and gaining a qualification related to your professional work. They involve being assessed in your normal work setting and performing familiar tasks.
The term National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) means the qualification has been approved by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority. These programmes are for those already working as careers and who want to gain a qualification. Each qualification can take a year to complete.
There are no formal entry requirements but as students undertake much of the work on their own, prospective students will need to be highly motivated. Students will be supported by regular contact with an assessor visiting the workplace.
NVQ link courses are standard training sessions that can be personalized for any organization, to reinforce policies, to manage change, and to provide knowledge evidence for NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2 and 3.
