Birmingham Graduate School’s library facilitates the creation of new thinking through the acquisition, organization and dissemination of existing knowledge. We ensure our facilities are designed in such a way that cultivate an appetite for academic discovery and encourages students to push back the frontiers of knowledge through study and thought.
Our Library:
Our library houses a vast array of Publications (reference and lending) with the latest textbook publications, journals, CDs, magazines and newspapers available.
It is also home to our graduated students dissertations – it should be noted these are carefully catalogued and are not for the purpose of lending.
Opening Hours:
Our library open hours match those of the college open hours, this is to ensure that there is a member of the library staff available to assist students with the lending of books or journals.
These hours are: 8.45am – 6.00pm
Reading Lists:
For each module studied at BGS there is a recommended reading list, which may include articles and journals as well as books. These have been carefully considered and chosen by the Professors to reflect the content of taught modules and be able to expand and develop students understanding and awareness of the topic.
All books from the core reading lists are included in the library catalogue and available for students to lend.
E-Library:
Our on-line library provides students with unlimited access to more than 50,000 e-books, journalsand articles that aid academic research anytime, anywhere. All students are furnished with an online library login and personalised password, which will allow access of the e-library from any pc with internet facilities.
As well as our own internal facilities, we benefit from our city centre location by being a short walk away from the vast, (also free) resources of the City of Birmingham’s Central Reference and Lending Library.
